A bit about us

Acahua is a Canberra-based jewellery brand specialising in delicate, minimalist and elegant designs. Founded by Andrea, a Colombian creative who moved to Australia in 2012, the brand brings together contemporary Australian style and Colombian heritage.

Andrea’s journey began in 2018, shortly after the birth of her first child, Sebastián. Inspired to create on-trend jewellery with a distinctive Colombian influence, she launched Le Chick Accessories, an online store that also showcased its designs at local Canberra markets. Drawing on the knowledge and experience she gained from this venture, Andrea rebranded and relaunched the business as Acahua in 2021.

The name “Acahua” honours the Muisca people, Indigenous artisans from Colombia renowned for their exceptional gold craftsmanship. This heritage continues to inspire the brand’s handcrafted gold-filled, sterling silver, stainless steel and pearl jewellery, created to reflect timeless beauty, simplicity and sophistication.

Since its relaunch, Acahua has participated in markets and events throughout the ACT and surrounding region, including Haig Park Village Markets, The Little Burley Market, Queanbeyan markets, The Cottage Markets and events at the Harmonie German Club. The brand has also been invited to major community celebrations, including the Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival, the National Multicultural Festival in Canberra and the Christmas in July Festival.

Today, Acahua’s handcrafted jewellery is available through its online store and Etsy. The brand ships Australia-wide, bringing meaningful, elegant designs to jewellery lovers in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Newcastle, Byron Bay and beyond.
